A native of Southern Maryland, Dr. Sachs graduated from Chopticon High School in 1978. He earned a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Science from the University of Maryland-Baltimore County, and his Doctor of Dental Surgery in 1988 from the University of Maryland, Baltimore College of Dental Surgery.

Dr. Sachs has been in private practice since 1988 and established his Solomons office in 1991. He resides in Leonardtown with his wife and children. In his spare time, he enjoys reading — especially Clive Cussler's various series.
